Yay! It’s fall / autumn season! (1)

Ok, so I haven’t been very active if it comes to glass paintings and illustrations lately. But I have a good reason for it: Within three weeks we are expecting our second child. Around the first week of october. Since glass painting is not the most healthy thing to do while being pregnant, this is the most important reason I just simply didn’t paint much in the last couple of months.

My daughter was also born in october, and the funny thing is that autumn/ fall season is my favorite season. So I thought it would be great to illustrate the birth announcement card with an autumn/ fall theme.

This is the first sketch that I made (yes, it’s a girl 😉 and I was happy with this idea right away.

New print available in my shop!

Today I recieved the prints of City, one of my most recent illustrations. I’m very happy with the quality of the prints because it’s the first time I payed so much attention to the printing process and especially the type of paper. City is now available in my shop!

Illustration for a birth announcement card (3)

The illustration for the birth announcement card is finished after a process of digital editing and blending glass painting elements with Illustrator elements. The most fun part of the process is changing the black glass painting elements into bright and cheerful colours. I’m very happy with the result. For private reasons I removed the name on the illustration, but if you’re wondering where I will put the name: between the waterplants below in white characters.

Illustration for a birth announcement card (1)

For the design of a birth announcement card I had two keywords for the concept: nature and landscape. I did not know if the baby would be a boy or a girl. I love it that the card is not gender specific. The house of the friends who asked me to design and illustrate this card is located next to a river. I decided to use the river in my design and this is the sketch that I used for the glass painting.
